Wet American Badger

It was the wettest day of the year in northern Utah and I was driving on the dirt road past the ranch on Antelope Island just hoping to see some more buffalo or antelope, but to my everlasting surprise, I saw a badger on the road just walking around slowly foraging for food. Amazingly, it let me drive fairly close and take pictures. Knowing the general mood of badgers, I did not think that getting out and walking around with it would be an option, but I tried it anyway, and to my delight, it pretty much ignored me and let me photograph and take videos of its wandering and foraging. I learned that it eats bugs and berries and leaves and that it pees like a cat–covering it up and all. When it was tired of me following it around and it was in its resting place, it just looked up at me and growled, and I got the message.
