Meadow Larks are one of my favorite birds. In fact, the Meadow Lark was one of the first birds that I learned the name of. When I would go out with my Dad in the desert regions around our home in Saint Anthony, Idaho, we would see this colorful bird with a very melodic song. My Dad told me that the words that the Meadow Lark would be singing if it could talk were “I am a Pretty Bird!” repeated over and over and over again. I still say those words every time I hear a Meadow Lark sing.
