While up on a roof in a neighborhood near Lansing, Michigan I noticed Sandhill Cranes cruising the neighborhood. So when I finished, I followed them around a bit. This one flew into someone’s yard and was preening and fluffing about when I caught this picture of it. The coloring on its feathers kind of look like rust, but it is a beautiful color and with the dark greens of the grass, bushes and trees, it is quite a pleasing shot.
