This was taken on the Fourth of July 2025–one of my most prolific days for capturing great shots. I had spent hours with thousands of avocets and seagulls and ducks and various other shore birds when I looked up ahead and I finally found a baby avocet. It seemed very curious about me as I was most likely the first human it had ever seen and it wanted to approach and check me out. When the “Mom Brigade” noticed this behavior, they tried their best to get it to go away from me. It was a blast to watch and document!
