On this unbelievable day, there was a skiff of snow covering the alpine high in the Rocky Mountains, and I encountered well over 20 big bull elk wandering around, bugling, challenging each other and wondering about the human with the tripod and camera. This particular bull stood out because of his almost perfect white-tipped antlers and the way he put his head all the way back as he ran. Somehow, I caught up with him and captured this photo.
