Trumpeter Swans Flying Over a Field of Wigeons
Trumpeter Swan & American Wigeon Cygnus buccinator & Mareca americana
Driving around where swans winter in Skagit, Washington, I spied a large group of swans in a field with many other ducks and a forest behind them. There was no place to pull off the road, but it was not a busy, so I pulled off anyway. I took my shoes off and walked out into the wet field with camera at the ready.
I walked slowly toward the geese and of course, some of the ducks started flying first, but I was able to get close enough to get this elegant shot of these two flying trumpeter swans with wigeons still in the field and forest in the background.
