Bighorn Sheep

Ovis canadensis

I was worn out. I had been actively hiking with and photographing mountain goats from 12,000 to 13,500 feet and approaching my truck, happy to rest when 3 bighorn sheep appeared. I happily abandoned the resting idea and hiked very quickly back up to the top with the Bighorns. They were climbing with a purpose, no grazing on the way or waiting for me. Enjoying early summer in the alpine meadows of the Rocky Mountains with this perfect bighorn sheep.
