If you have ever approached a killdeer that has a nest nearby, you will be thrilled by behavior that is kind of strange. They go away from the nest and play like they have a broken wing, or like they are suddenly drunk and can no longer fly or walk correctly. This one had done that, but then I ignored it and it went back to its nest where I was fortunate enough to get this shot of a protective killdeer mother with her eggs.
